School Closure Information for Bloom Institute of Technology (“BloomTech”) – San Francisco

The Office of Student Assistance and Relief (OSAR) has been notified that on December 31, 2025, BloomTech closed.  The school reported that the last day of instruction was December 31, 2025. 
In communications with the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE), the school provided the following:

  • Request Your Records – We encourage students to request transcripts, enrollment agreements, student ledgers, and other important documents as soon as possible after a school closure.  Use the contact information below to obtain your records:

  • School-Provided Refunds- California law requires schools to provide refunds under certain circumstances, including some scenarios when students cannot complete their programs due to a school closure (California Education Code Section 94927).

  • Student Loan Information – If you took out loans to pay for BloomTech, you may have options.  California law generally allows students with claims and defenses against a school to raise those issues as loan defenses.  OSAR can help connect you with referral resources.

 

  • Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) – If you are a California resident or attended a program where in-person teaching occurred in California, OSAR can assist you in completing a STRF Application.
